Drugs are Killers - Watch Your Children

Upon the arrival of this newsletter, Christmas and New Years'have come and gone. I hope that each and everyone had a blessed holiday season! The Lodge was very busy with parties every weekend of December. Thanks to those who gave their time during the busy season, to help out with the parties.
As always, we are in need of volunteers to help out with Friday Night Kitchen. If you are interested in working a Friday night please let me know. If you have never worked in the kitchen, thats okay, we can show you the ropes, its easy. Now that a new year is here, take time to reflect back to the past year and ask yourself what did I do for the Lodge and what can I do for this year? The future of our Lodge depends upon each of us.

Fraternally,
Sue Fletcher, ER

Ladies Auxiliary News

Happy New Year. Our meeting on December 13th was very well attended by 30 members and one guest (Eugenia Lander). We had a wonder" Holiday Meal" before our meeting with over 60 people. Many members suggested that we should do this more often. We had so many different dishes that our plates were not big enough to try everything. Thank you everyone for making this such a enjoyable evening out. After our meeting we had our annual gift exchange. Raffle Tickets:
The auxiliary presented a gift certificate to Dale Rigas for all of her time and materials she donated for our raffle ticket sales. A big thank you to all who sold and purchased tickets. This was a great success this year and we all agreed that this was a good time of the year to sell tickets.

The winners of the raffle tickets are:
1 st prize    $ 211.00       Josie Nutting
2nd prize   $ 126.60       Doris Dean
3rd prize    $ 84.40        Ted Majka

Craft Show, Saturday, March 12,2005:
Robin Little has distributed flyers and applications, she has had some applications submitted to her already. Marty Ward handed our flyers and applications to a recent craft show she attended. Nancy Francisco and Sylvia Roberts offered to take calls for questions and information about the show. We all agreed to ask Caroline Harrington if she would like to take care of the bake sale again this year and Dale Rigas has offered to help. Great job and thank all for your continued support of the auxiliary.

Past President Plaque:
Thank you Jean Sellect for taking care of updating the Past President Plaque.

We Voted to give contributions to Operation Merry Christmas again this year. We also purchased International Phone cards (calling
minutes) for our service men and women.

    THANK YOU'S TO

Jim & Brenda Philpott & Dick Huyck for the delicious Chicken & Biscuit buffet, served after our Memorial Service. Those Who attended our Memorial Service. Those who donated non-perishables to the Food bank. Ladies Auxiliary for the candy and cupcakes. Jerry and Sylvia for helping out at the children's Christmas party. John Morris for playing Santa. Garry Stevens Kenny Spencer for doing the Wednesday Night dinners.

Our first children's Christmas party was held on Dec 12th. There was not a lot of children, but For the ones that were there, had a great time. Games were played, Refreshments of cupcakes, made by Ladies of the Auxiliary, and punch was served.
The highlight of the party, of course, was the visit from Santa. All children had the chance to sit on Santa's lap and had their picture taken. Santa played one game of musical chairs with the children, but when their was no chair for Santa, he landed on his butt on the floor, Really made the children laugh! Thanks to Pam Nicholas for all her time and dedication to this first time event. Hopefully we'll have more children to attend next years party.

    Thanks Sue E.R.
