Drugs are Killers - Watch Your Children

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and that the New Year finds everyone with their lives close to normal agian. This past year has been a trial to our Lodge and many of its members. I would like to once agian thank everyone who has helped at the lodge or anywhere else that help was needed to get things back together after the devastating flood of 2006.
Our Lodge is about 95% restored from the flood in June. We are starting BINGO and our Friday Night Kitchen back up this month, so be sure you come down for one, the other, or both and see how things are looking. I would like to invite all members to come to a Lodge Meeting. In the time that I have served as Exalted Ruler I have seen several members that attend every meeting, but very few others have come to see what is going on with our Lodge and in all of Elkdom. It would be wonderful to see some smiling faces in the Lodge room during our meetings.
Have a Happy New Year, and I look foward to seeing you all in the near future.

Fraternally,
Jason Hager, ER

Ladies Auxiliary News

The Year 2007 is upon us already. I toast to everyone that this year will be better than the last. As I look back at 2006, I see the good that has come out of the worst (the flood). I see more of what the Elks stand for: Brotherly Love, Charity, Justice, and Fidelity.  Call me old - fashioned but I believe that all the hatred, suing each other, laughing at someone else's misfortune is wrong and making our world an unpleasant place to live. I was raised to love thy neighbor. I found it wonderful to see people helping each other without a price attached. Another" good " is our Lodge; it looks beautiful!   I have learned to appreciate nature and its force. The flood has affected each and everyone directly or indirectly.  May God continue to bless us in the recovery of this ordeal.   I have always been told that God will not give us more than he feels we can handle.   Let's hope that we can continue to help others and find peace in ourselves by doing so.
Remember to sell those raffle tickets as they benefit our scholarship fund. Money and tickets are due in at the meeting on January 9th. Bingo Kitchen is in need of workers; if you can work, please let myself or Hope Page know. The Annual Craft Show and Bake Sale is March 31st.
On a personal note, I would like to thank everyone for their prayers and calls while I am learning to live with my heart condition.                                                                           :
Our next meeting is on Tuesday January 9th @ 6:30. Hope to see you there. Prayers and thoughts to those who may not be feeling so well or cannot be here with us. God bless us all.

Respectfully,
Robinanne Little
Auxiliary President

Reminder - - If you are moving South for the Winter, please turn your change of address into the Secretary.
