Drugs are Killers - Watch Your Children

My year as Exalted Ruler is coming to an end. Though, at time things it got tough with members resigning and quiting from certain positions and committees, we still got through it. I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to be your Exalted Ruler. Going to the conventions, clinics and visiting other Lodges was a lot of fun and Steve and I got to meet so many great Elks members. It all in all has been a great experience.
I know that Ralph will do an excellent job as Exalted Ruler, and that you will give him the help and support that he needs. I wish him the best of luck in his year as E.R.

Fraternally,
Sue Fletcher, ER

        TEXAS HOLD 'EM
At our last Texas Hold'Em poker tournament, we had our best day so far. For the first time, we had three full tables. It's great to see so many people showing up, and having a good time. We have made enough money from the $2.00 that we take for supplies from the buy in, to purchase the materials to build another table. One of our dealers has graciously offered to donate the money to buy materials for a 3rd, so by the time we play again, we may have three nice felt tables to play on. Thanks, Jason, for volunteering to build them. At the moment, we are thinking of taking the months of June, July, and August off, and coming back in September, but with the increasing popularity, perhaps we will have enough people to play during the busy summer months. Also, starting in September, we are thinking of holding the tournament twice a month. Please let me know what you think of these two ideas.
Our next tournament will be on Marth 13th. Don't forget it is always the 2nd Sunday of the month, it's $30.00 to play, with $25.00 going to prizes, $3.00 going to the kitchen for the meal, and $2.00 going towards supplies. We start dealing at 4:00, so please show up at least 15 minutes early to sign in. Hope to see you on the 13th.

        SPECIAL NOTICE ABOUT DUES

Once again the dues for 2005-2006 are being printed right on the bulletin instead of receiving an individual mailing. This invoice is for Sidney members only and not for friends, widows, or members from other lodges who receive our bulletin. This is being done once again to save the Lodge about $150 in the cost of stamps, not to mention the high cost of invoice forms and envelopes.  Last years dues collection was a huge success and I hope we can continue it again this year. On your bulletin you receive in the mail, just tear (or cut) off the form which already has your name on it, and mail it along with your check payable to:

        Sidney Elks Lodge No. 2175
        Attn: Todd Henchey, Secretary
        104 River Street
        Sidney, NY 13838

Below you will find the costs for the upcoming year 2005-2006.
If you are unsure what type of member you are,
or how much your dues are, please contact me Sunday
        mornings between 8:00a.m. - 10:00a.m.
at 563-2175 and I will be happy to help you.
