This is my last message as ER, I know it's hard to believe. I'm having
a hard time believing that after March it's time for a new Slate of
Officers. There are many different ways I could do this last message,
but I'll stick with traditional style. I know that Dick Huyck won't
like it, but "whatever". I would like to thank the officers that worked with me this past year. You should be proud of yourselves that we (together) made this Lodge run for another year. A special thank you goes to Andy Holowacz for having faith in me two years ago and really making me think about taking the Leading Knight position, which I knew meant that I would be the Exalted Ruler the next year. Thanks for having the confidence in me to do the job. To all committee chairman, thanks for being in the trenches and helping me do the projects that our district and Lodge requires us to do. To the trustees, thanks for making our building and grounds improve over the previous year. We have a new roof over the kitchen and a new roof over the barbeque pit. We still have more to do and I hope you will work with the new ER to accomplish these goals. I know you will. Thanks to all of the workers on the Friday Night Kitchen crews. I know that all of you work hard to serve meals to our members and guests. If you wouldn't eat it, we won't serve it. Thanks to the BINGO crews, you also have done a great job this past year. I hope you will work with Sandy Borden this next year to make the work we do less for everybody. I really and truly hope we can come up with more volunteers to work with Sandy so that we can eventually only have crews that work once a month, thanks to Bell Jar Chairman Tracy and his wife for sticking it out. I know his pleas in the newsletter worked, they now have a solid crew selling bell jar tickets. Another Thank you goes out to all of the people that have helped me tab and label the newsletters for the past year. I owe you guys and gals big. I thank all of the people that have worked banquets this past year. We can't do it without you. That is a large amount of the monies that we use to run the Lodge. Thanks to the Ladies Auxiliary for their support this past year. Thanks to Joanie for being our bartender for yet another year. Your support for this Lodge and myself this past year is very much appreciated. Keep up the good work. Last but not least(really), I thank Garry Stevens for the job he did this past year as Banquet Chairman. If we had any weekends with nothing going on it was only because he needed to catch his breath. If anyone knows the behind the scenes work that goes on with this job, you can't believe the time and effort that is required to pull it off. I appreciate everything you have done for our Lodge this past year!! If I have left anyone out I truly apologize and in the same breath I thank you. I tried not to mention people individually because everyone knows that someone is always inevitably forgotten and I don't want that. I hope that all of you will volunteer and support our new ER Jason Hager and the officers of the Lodge this coming year. Don't forget dues are due by April 1, 2006. Fraternally,
Ralph Gschwind, ER |
