Drugs are Killers - Watch Your Children

April marks the beginning of my term as Exalted Ruler. I would like to congratulate Jason Hager and his Officers for their hard work over the past two years. I would like to thank the people who have agreed to be Officers or Committee Chairpersons for the upcoming year. All of the Committees have been filled, however we still need two more people to be officers. If you would like to be an officer or be more involved in the lodge please let me know.
In the past few months I have spoken to numerous people who have stated that they would love to help out with certain events or functions but no one calls them. Please do not wait to be called upon to help out, make the call and volunteer to help. Every month the calendar is published in this bulletin. If there is something you would like to do please let myself or someone else know.
We have a lot of plans for the next year but without your help and support it will be impossible to make things happen. If you are unhappy about something please let me know. If you are happy with the way things are going please let your friends know. Then encourage them to join our lodge and get involved.
We have set up emails that can be used to contact myself or Todd Henchey if we're not at the lodge. To contact myself, send an email to er2175@stny.rr.com. To contact Todd Henchey regarding membership issues or address changes please email secretary2175@stny.rr.com.

Fraternally yours,
Jan Gorshack, ER

Ladies Auxiliary News

Did you know: April means "to open," in allusion to its being the season when trees and flowers begin to "open." The Anglo-Saxons called April Oster-monath or Eostur-monath, the period sacred to Eostre or Ostara, the pagan Saxon goddess of spring, from whose name is derived the modem Easter. St George's day is the twenty-third of the month; and St Mark's Eve, with its superstition that the ghosts of those who are doomed to die within the year will be seen to pass into the church, falls on the twenty-fourth. I wish everyone a happy April Fools' Day -April 1, Earth Day -April 22, Conch Republic Independence Day (Key West, Florida) - April 23.
Our New Year is here and I am looking for fund raiser ideas. The Bingo Kitchen schedule is as follows: April 3rd - Nora Cole & Lola Palmer, April 10th - Marilee Martin & Janet Rude, April 17th - Jean Davis & Eleanor MacDonald, April 24th - Gail Ostrander & Sharon Harris. Thank you for your cooperation. We discuss the kitchen at every meeting. If you would like to be on the Scholarship committee please let Sylvia Roberts know. Applications have been sent out to the schools and are due back on the 4th. We will be hosting the Alumni Breakfast July, a list will be at the Lodge for work sign up, we will have many positions to fill. Remember April 6th is Installation of Officers, April 19th is the Payees Dinner and the Elks Brunch on April 27th.
Our next meeting will be on April 8th at 6:30. Hope to see you there. Prayers and thoughts to those who may not be feeling so well or cannot be here with us. God bless us all.

Respectfully,
Robinanne Little
Ladies Auxiliary President

Reminder - - If you are moving South for the Winter, please turn your change of address into the Secretary.
