Drugs are Killers - Watch Your Children

It's hard to believe that summer is coming to and end. As usual, it has gone by too fast. With Labor Day being right around the corner it signals the start of the new school year for our children, the start of the Fall season, and cooler temperatures on the way. But let's not rush summer away; hopefully we can look forward to a beautiful Indian summer in September.
This time of the year also marks the visitation from our District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Ron Montanari and his entourage. His visit to our Lodge will take place on Wednesday September 28, 2005, when he will attend our Lodge meeting. We will be having an Initiation taking place at this meeting and the officers of this Lodge will be judged on the Ritual of Initiation by the District's Ritual Judges. A good turnout from our membership would be greatly appreciated showing your support for our Lodge Officers and of course welcoming DDGER Ron Montanari. We look forward to seeing you there.
I did forget to mention one very important item in the August newsletter. At the Grand Lodge National Convention in Reno, the new Grand Exalted Ruler Louis J. Grille was installed for the year 2005 -2006 replacing out going GER James McQuillan. GER Grille has a legacy attached to him, it has something to do with socks. I'm not quite sure how the story goes, but I believe it has something to do with him wearing mismatched socks or just plain weird looking socks. It was funny seeing pairs of socks on all the posters showing support for GER Grille.
That's all for this month and I hope to see everyone at our meeting on September 28, 2005

Fraternally,
Ralph Gschwind,ER

Greetings fellow card players. Our Card Night, which has been growing in popularity, will be starting up again in the month of September with a couple of changes. The main change is that instead of the second Sunday of the month, We will be having Card Night on the first and third Tuesday's each month. This means in September we will be playing on the 6th and the 20th starling at 6 P.M., Unlike Sundays in the past, we will no longer be providing a meal during the game, so you need to get your own food before you get there. The format of our game is going to be a little different too, but that will be explained on Card Night. We hope that these changes will work out better for everyone once we get used to them. We hope to see you there on the 6th for an enjoyable evening.
