The
Freedoms we enjoy today are the result of the sacrifices of those who
served in the Armed Forces. We owe these patriots who preserved our way
of life a dept of gratitude that can never be fully repaid. These freedoms have greater meaning today after we experienced the attacks in N.Y.C., Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania, which killed many innocent people on Sept. 11th, 2001. Those members of our Armed Forces who served in Afghanistan and continue to serve in Iraq have further defined the meaning of our freedoms as they fight against terrorism. In 1946, the Elks made the solemn pledge. "So long as there are veterans, the BPOE will never forget them". Remember our veterans - November 11th! Fraternally,
