Drugs are Killers - Watch Your Children

The month of December is upon us and the year of 2003 is almost over. I hope as we look back on the year, we see that we, as Elks, have done all we could have done for each and everyone we meet. As the year 2004 approaches, let us continue to do everything we possibly can - to be good people and good Elks, and help wherever we can.
The Elk's Memorial Service is on December 7th at 2:00 PM. Please, everyone come and support our Lodge on this day.
Hoop Shoot is on December 6th at The Boys & Girls Club in Sidney. Please come and support our boys and girls of the future. The winners will be going to the District Shoot on January 24,2004 at the Owego Lodge in Owego, NY. The times to be given at a future date.
That's all for this month. I hope everyone has a safe Christmas and a safer New Year. See everybody in the new year and, as always, take care and be careful in everything you do.

Fraternally,
Wayne Hubbell, ER, PER, PSVP

Ladies Auxiliary News

I want to start my message by apologizing to our Auxiliary members for the mix-up in last month's Newsletter. Apparently I decided to wipe out November's meeting and Pie Night. So, just for the record, our next meeting is December 8th. We will be having a Covered Dish Supper at 6:00 PM with the meeting to follow. Please remember your spouses are welcome to attend too. There will be a grab bag gift exchange with a $7.50 limit on gifts. Hope to see a great turnout.
We have not had the response to the Bakeless Bakesale that we had hoped for, so, one more time, if you haven't sent in a donation yet, please send your check payable to: Elks Aux. c/o Elaine Gransbury, Tres. The deadline is December 31st and we really appreciate your donation.
The following members are scheduled to work Bingo kitchen in December.

      Elks Memorial Day Service

(Bar will be closed during the Memorial Service)
      IN LOVING MEMORY
      God looked around his garden,
      And saw an empty space.
Then he looked down here on earth,
      And saw your loving face.
He put his arms around you,
      And lifted you to rest.
      His garden most beautiful,

Because he only picks the best.
A million times we' ll miss you,
A million times we' ll cry.
If love could have saved you,
      You never would have died.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death we love you still.
In our hearts you hold a special place,
      No one could ever fill.
It broke our hearts to loose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
